TRILLIUM GRANT FUNDING FOR PARK RENOVATIONS The Chatham Girls Minor Softball Association Board of Directors is happy to announce that they were successful in obtaining a Ontario Trillium Foundation grant of $24,400.00. These funds will be used to make significant improvements to our facility at Blythe Park. The funds will be used to make renovations to the two diamonds including repairs to the backstop, fencing, batting cage and installation of safety fencing inside the batting cage. Both diamonds will be resurfaced with a new pro-style playing surface. Additionally, we will be installing cement pads inside the batting cage and around the players benches. Finally we will be building a storage shed to enclose the ptiching machine inside of the batting cage. These improvements will begin as soon as possible and will be done by the fall of this year. The CGMSA would like to thank the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their support in helping us improve our facilities, helping us to promote the great sport of softball and increase physical activity amongst the youth of Chatham Kent.
